# Frédéric Tremblay-Naud

I bridge the people who build and the people who decide. It is my one real trade, practiced under many titles.

## The background, briefly

I started on the technical side, and stayed long enough to recognize an optimistic estimate when I see one. I then spent a good part of my career on the other side of the table, where you have to choose between three projects and answer for it to a board.

What I learned in between: most projects do not fail for lack of intelligence, they fail for lack of clarity about what is actually being solved. That is where I start, before talking about any tool.

## Why Cavalerie Conseil

In chess, the knight is the only piece that jumps over the others. It follows neither the straight line nor the diagonal: it moves differently, and that is what opens strategies the other pieces cannot offer.

That is the spirit of Cavalerie Conseil. In military strategy, cavalry, light or heavy, opens the ground: it makes fast maneuvers or strong advances possible where others stall.

My work is to bring order, and to rethink what has always been done the same way. Step out of your habits, see your game from another dimension, then act. Things can change, and there is more than one way to get there.

**Where the other pieces stop**

A chessboard of five squares by five. A row of pieces bars the way in front of the knight. Two L-shaped routes pass over that row and reach the same square.

- The straight line and the diagonal: blocked by the row.
- The knight: it jumps over.
- Two routes, the same square: there is more than one way to get there.
